What's on my desk: 7/9/13

 In between layers of drying watercolor on the recently-posted Richter Mitchell and Phobos illustration, I've been starting on the sketchwork for the next piece, one of his younger brother and later main character, Justin Mitchell, with his Deity, Deimos.

sketches and an illustration

 As you can see from the pose, this one's more of a remake of the original than the Richter one was; the characters will even be in the same relative positions to one another, just more dynamically posed and obvious much more detailed.  At the top of the picture you can see some mechanical design work I did when finalizing Deimos' design about a year ago, along with an unfinished papercraft of him (pretty much just the forward torso section, and not even all of it... but it helps a TON as a visual aid for getting all the angles and whatnot to look right when posing the thing.  I've only just begun on the Deimos sketch, but I'll be sure to post it up when it's done.

 These Illya sketches are a bit older (some of you on my FaceBook may've already seen a few of them), but still about to go back up on the "current projects" list now that I've got my studio setup running strong again:

 This one is a slight spoiler, but yeah, I decided to make Echo a "Warlord" type Deity, so Illya can attain a Level-2 transformation.  Also, her weapon upgrades will go into different types of instruments, with the first being the flute/sickle I've always drawn her with, her second being an guitar/axe, and the third shown here, being a keyboard/greatsword (of course, all the above still have their gun function intact as well).  I'm not going to reveal what her Ultimate-form weapon is just yet, but it'll be awesome.  :D

keyblade!  lulz
The keyboard forms when the speakers flip out, the handle pivots and slides down the track to become a stand; the keys themselves you can see peeking out above the back of the sword.  Not the usual thing that comes to mind when someone mentions a "keyblade," lol.
  These are the tattoos Illya has.  Her side piece reads "Жить не могу без музыки," which means "I can't live without music; the words on the stamp (bad place for this sort of thing, but whatever) are "Мать" and  "Отец," or "Mother and Father;" in-story she adds this part upon discovering that she was an orphan.  The one on her calf is Vic Rattlehead, Megadeth's mascot.

"I can't live without music," "Mother and father," (both in Russian), and Vic Rattlehead.
Your daily reminder that DevilSaint supports diversity.  :B
  This one is a portrait of her; I apologize for it being on notebook paper.  ^^;

Rocker chicks are hot.

 Other projects include finishing the piece for Amanda's full back tattoo (started on it last summer, but lost the illustration during a move; just found it though!), redesigning/refining some of the other Deities, and also some new Trooper Blaze stuff as well.

Until next time!
